Pakistan's First Ringette Program
In collaboration with the Booni Environmental Academy, we implemented Pakistan's first ringette program, coupled with mental health training, climate stewardship and positive youth development strategies in Chitral, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa
- In a province of Pakistan that is known to be conservative, in which women's rights and freedoms are often restricted, we launched Pakistan's first ringette program, with a female-majority cohort.
Working in partnership with a local NGO - the Booni Environmental Academy - we launched a ringette program that focused equally on on-ice training and technical skill in the sport as it did on off-ice personal development. We lead workshops with participants on environmental stewardship, mental health awareness, leadership and community building. Our training program brought together participants from 5 different villages in the Chitral Valley, and our participants in turn trained various community members in the sport!
